Thanks to the kindness of strangers (4 of them), they helped me find the apartment, basically through trial and error, looking at photos and a process of elimination. They were so kind. One of them is called Sherrie and she suggested we spend a day together, contrary to The Pet Shop Boys, she wanted to Go East.
Sherrie is originally from Colorado and has been here for seven years. She's had a lot of medical needs, so is retired, from the hairdressing trade.
During my trip I have met a lot of lovely locals and holiday makers:
Rick and Natalie, the Canadians.
Dustin and his wife.
Sweet lady who runs a garden centre in Utah and her hubby.
Swiss family, not Robinson, but travelling the world with two children ages 2 and 4.
Claudia, the German SEND teacher - bonkers in a way which SEND teachers can be.
And Sherrie. OMG, she's off her head. Hilariously so.
To describe the day in a sentence: we went for lunch and then went beach combing.
To elaborate: we went all over the place, spoke to about a million people that she knows and who she told me the life history of. Found and admired a load of shells, stones, coral and sea glass. Got confused about where we were (it's one straight road) and came home in the pitch dark through lightening with the thunder rattling our ears.
Ok, so the lightening wasn't over us but the sea, it just felt like it was.
It was a magical day and, despite driving on the wrong side of the road once (gulp), it went fine.
